“Putting a new face on the class clown”
Some are born with it. Sure all kids do cute little things
that make us laugh, but some kids are just born entertainers.
Impressions, jokes and anecdotes come naturally to them,
and we reap the benefits over and over again with our smiles.
Some must acquire it. Remember bullies, rude kids and antagonists?
An acquired comedic shield protects would-be victims by transforming
them into witty, self-confident machines able to resolve
problems by making people laugh.
Some just want it. The NFL, NBA or MLB may not be the place
where all kids find role models and relatable personalities.
Last Comic Standing, Comicview, and Comedy Central are just
a few of the places in which kids are finding new heroes.
They find these heroes performing on national TV and doing
exactly what they want to do…make people laugh.
I started this foundation to help promote humor within schools,
not just comedians but funny people. Stand-up comics, sitcom
writers, staff writers, producers, on-air personalities are
just a few of the careers that can be realized by supporting
a kid’s interest in comedy.
“Kids n Comics” aspires to provide scholarships
to high-school seniors who have shown an ability to amuse
without being disrespectful or disrupting. We would also
like to develop protégés through a series of
camps, seminars and workshops. “Putting a new face
on the class clown” is what we do, and in doing so
hopefully we can provide an entertaining foundation for a
kid…through comedy.
